According to a recent article in the Hi-Desert Star, if Chad Mayes gets elected to the 42 District seat of the California State Assembly, one of the things he plans to do is implement a Lean Six Sigma approach to how the state does business. Mayes, of Yucca Valley, stated in the article that he is a big believer in performance management that can be obtained through the  Lean Six Sigma methods.

Mayes is no stranger to business. He started working as a stockbroker at the Edward Jones office that he opened when he was 23. He was elected to the Yucca Valley town council in 2002 — at the age of 25 — and again in 2006 and 2010. According to his website, twice Mayes was chosen by his colleagues to serve as mayor and during his time in office, the town had a balanced budget and no tax increases.

In 2011, when Mayes left his post with the town council in order to focus on his job as chief of staff to the 4th District Supervisor of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, Yucca Valley had 40 percent of its budget in reserves, in spite of much of the state and nation dealing with financial crises.

People who know business count on Lean Six Sigma to deliver increased efficiency, increased financial savings, and increased customer satisfaction. From the small company to the big corporation to the departments of governmental organizations, Lean Six Sigma gets results.
