Free JMP Workshop: Statistical Methods for Biotech Professionals

The Pyzdek Institute is offering a free JMP training for biotech professionals through a 12-hour online workshop in statistical methods using JMP® software. This program is designed exclusively for individuals who have recently experienced a layoff from a biotech company. The live, instructor-led sessions will help you sharpen your analytical skills, build confidence with statistical tools, and earn a certificate that you can proudly include on your resume and LinkedIn profile.

Our goal is simple: to support professionals in transition by equipping them with practical skills that employers value.

About the Workshop

This is a hands-on, instructor-guided training designed to give you a working knowledge of key statistical tools and workflows in JMP®. It is not just theory. You will learn how to explore data, analyze variation, build models, and draw conclusions using real-world methods that align with a Lean, Statistical mindset.

The course is based on content we typically deliver to corporate clients in manufacturing, biotech, and regulated industries. We have adapted it for this 12-hour format to ensure high-impact learning in a short period of time.

What You Will Learn

The workshop covers practical topics such as:

• Building a statistical mindset and avoiding common mistakes
• Descriptive statistics and how to interpret variation
• Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) using JMP’s Graph Builder
• Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and measurement integrity
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and selecting the right charts
• Design of Experiments (DOE) review

Each session will include demonstrations, guided practice, and discussion. Participants will be provided with datasets and will follow along using JMP software. A free trial license of JMP is available at www.jmp.com, if needed.

Schedule and Format

• Total Duration: 12 hours of live instruction
• Delivery Format: Virtual, via Zoom
• Session Format: 4 sessions of 3 hours each
• Dates: September 15, 18, 22, and 25, 2025 (all weekdays) from 9 am to noon California time.
• Instructor: Delivered by a Pyzdek Institute Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with expertise in JMP software and statistical consulting
• Tools Required: JMP Statistical Software (Windows or Mac compatible), webcam and headset with microphone

Certificate and CEUs

Participants who complete the full workshop and pass an exam will receive an official Certificate of Competence titled JMP® Statistical Methods for Biotech/Pharma, Level 1 issued by the Pyzdek Institute.

This credential formally recognizes your mastery of foundational statistical tools and workflows using JMP in a biotech or regulated manufacturing context. It also demonstrates your initiative to pursue relevant training during a career transition, something employers consistently value.

Who Is Eligible

This opportunity is intended for professionals who meet the following criteria:

• You were recently laid off from a biotech company based in the United States or Canada
• You have a background in quality, engineering, manufacturing, data analysis, biotech, pharma, or a related field
• You are seeking to improve your analytics and problem-solving skills to become more competitive in the job market
• You are available to attend all four sessions live

No prior experience with JMP® is required. Some basic familiarity with spreadsheets or statistics will be helpful, but not mandatory.

Advance to Level 2

Graduates of Level 1 will be eligible for future Level 2 training focused on advanced topics such as:

• Design of Experiments (DOE) for optimization
• Statistical modeling and multivariate analysis
• Case studies from biotech and pharma settings
• Regulatory considerations and documentation

Completion of Level 1 ensures that you meet the prerequisites for this advanced workshop, which will be announced at a later date.
